Ohana Life exists to support families in underprivileged communities in Northern Virginia. The type of support that will empower and motivate them with resources to flourish and succeed as a family unit. Most importantly, Ohana Life provides children with emotional, academic, and spiritual support to help them obtain a bright future.
Families in underprivileged/underserved communities have a difficult time succeeding because of lack of information, resources and/or support. Many single parents often times struggle to find support for their children while they are trying to make a living. There is high demand for services that will enable and empower single parents and/or families in underprivileged/underserved communities. Services needed by these communities; finding proper housing, mental health services, job search skills, and tutoring for
at risk children.
Mental health support: Family and individual counseling, youth mentoring programs, parenting Classes, child abuse prevention. Spiritual support: Personal loss, grief, addiction and spiritual counseling. Academic support: (including tutoring, college planning) career mentoring and assistance with entering the work force. Provide resources to families needing social programs.
